This adds wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to Mazdas running the MZD Connect system. Two things decide it.

Step 1 – Check you have MZD Connect

MZD Connect is the screen that sits on top of the dashboard, controlled by the rotary Commander dial between the front seats. Most Mazdas built from 2014 to 2020 have it.

Step 2 – Check your software version

On the screen: Settings → System (the tab at the top right) → About → Version Information. You will see a number such as 59.00.502A or 74.00.324A.

• 70 or higher – your car already has the CarPlay software. Fit the hub and you are done.
• Below 70 – the software needs updating first. We supply the update files and instructions with your order at no extra cost.

Not supported

• Cars that already have CarPlay from the factory – yours is working. You do not need this.
• The newer Mazda Connect system – Mazda 3 from 2019, CX-30, and CX-5 from 2021. Different screen, different hub.
• Cars built before MZD Connect – roughly pre-2014, with no Commander dial.
