Main features
- Wired Apple CarPlay – your iPhone’s maps, music, calls and messages on the factory screen.
- Wired Android Auto – Google Maps, Spotify and WhatsApp on your dashboard.
- Easy to install – no specialist tools or knowledge required, only an SD card.
- Lifetime activation – activate these features for life.
How does it work?
Installation is carried out using an SD card and the vehicle’s SD card slot. You insert the SD card, follow the included instructions and once complete you’ll have Audi Smartphone Interface available.
Will this work for my car?
Compatible with Audi A3, S3 and RS3 8V facelift vehicles manufactured 2016–2020 with MIB2 headunits.
Step 1
Check your headunit software version as follows:
- Hold NAV up and MEDIA down together for at least 5 seconds
- Select Version Information
Step 2
If your Version Information looks like this, it’s compatible (where x is any digit/character):
- MHI2_ER_AUxxx_xxxxx
- MHS2_ER_AU_xxxxx
Earlier A3 8V cars with MIB1 (version starting MHIG) and the A3 8Y from 2020 (MIB3) aren’t compatible.
Step 3
Choose your delivery method, select an upgrade, input your version information and place your order.
Delivery and returns
Sent as a sealed SD card, ready to insert.
Posted orders are dispatched within 1 working day by tracked FedEx and usually arrive 4–6 working days after dispatch. The shipping cost is shown at checkout.
VAT and import duties are included in the price, so there is nothing to pay on delivery. Posted orders are sold and shipped by Global-e, our international partner.
Each activation is single use and gives a one-time lifetime activation on the head unit it is applied to, so it cannot be reused or returned once supplied.
Not sure which version you have? Message us on WhatsApp before ordering – it is free and takes a few minutes.
By ordering you acknowledge that you lose your 14-day right to cancel once you unseal the SD card.
This does not affect your statutory rights: what we supply must be as described and fit for purpose, and if it is not we will repair, replace or refund it.

Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between Email and SD card?
Your order data for your Version Information will be delivered via email within 24 hours. Instructions are included. You will need your own Windows or Mac device + spare SD card (between 8-32GB) to carry out the installation.
Email isn't offered in every country. If you only see SD card, that's the option for yours.
SD card
You will receive a pre-loaded SD card via the post, plus instructions. No computer or spare SD card needed. This is also the easiest option as it will essentially be plug-and-play.
Do I need any upgrades?
It’s entirely your choice, but we highly recommend the Carlinkit Mini Ultra wireless adapter for the best experience. Factory systems only support wired connections–this adapter seamlessly converts it to wireless, giving you hassle-free access every time you start your car.
Do you offer map updates?
We do not currently support map updates, however, we recommend navigation via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto using Google Maps, Apple Maps or Waze.
My headunit software version doesn’t begin with MHI2 or MHS2
Unfortunately, we can only support head units running MHI2 or MHS2 software versions. Other versions are not compatible.

Works perfectly, exactly what I needed. Instructions are clear and simple. Ordered on Sunday, email received on Monday, only took about 15 mins to put the files on an SD card and do the update. Definitely worth doing! Now have the built-in CarPlay working on my A3.

Works perfectly in my car, now I can get Waze and Apple music without paying Audi prices. Took me about 15 minutes to install after reading the instructions and then as soon as I plugged my phone in it popped up. Definitely recommend.

I decided to have the files sent to me by email and do the activation myself. Everything was done in a few minutes and everything worked as described. Thanks to the team and just keep it up :)
