Step 1

Check your headunit software version as follows:

Select the Setup or Menu button
Select Setup MMI
Select Settings
Select Version Information

Step 2

If your software Version Information begins with MHI2, like the examples below, it's compatible!

where x is any digit/letter

Step 3

Your car must have dual USB ports (with or without smartphone symbol). If it's marked Charge only, you'll need to change your USB socket so that it can interface with CarPlay or Android Auto.

My Version Information starts with RMC

If your headunit version starts with RMC or HN+, this is unfortunately not compatible as it does not have Audi Smartphone Interface built-in from factory.

Delivery and refunds

Each activation is single use and gives a one-time lifetime activation on the head unit it is applied to, so it cannot be reused or returned once supplied.

What's the difference between Email and SD card?

Email

Your order data for your Installed SW Train Version will be delivered via email within 24 hours. Instructions are included. You will need your own Windows device + spare SD card (between 8-32GB) to carry out the installation. No Macs allowed.

SD card

You will receive a pre-loaded SD card via the post, plus instructions. No Windows device necessary. Choose this option if you have a Mac for example. This is also the easiest option as it will essentially be plug-and-play.

Do I need any upgrades?

We highly recommend the Carlinkit Mini Ultra wireless adapter for the best experience. Factory systems only support wired connections–this adapter seamlessly converts it to wireless, giving you hassle-free access every time you start your car.

Do I need a new USB socket?

If your USB ports are marked Charge only, the socket must be replaced with the correct part number. This is separate from the activation and is your responsibility.

My headunit software version doesn't begin with MHI2, but RMC instead

Unfortunately, we can only support head units running MHI2 software versions. Other versions are not compatible.

Do you offer map updates?

We do not currently support map updates, however, we recommend navigation via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto using Google Maps, Apple Maps or Waze.

The order was processed a day later than they wrote by email because I wrote to them several times that my MMI and Audi system was giving me an error. I had a response within 48 hours, but the response was surprising, that it must work, that I was doing something wrong... I followed the procedure exactly, I bought the recommended SD card and my software still doesn't support it, I asked IA, so according to what they sent me, it won't work on my unit, but unfortunately I haven't received any response, I'm sorry, my satisfaction is 0.00 nothing. The money is wasted and it doesn't work.

Everything worked, great program

I downloaded the files, put them on the SD card (using a Windows computer, Mac does not work!) and inserted the card in the SD slot in my Audi A7. The update ran and I can now use Apple CarPlay. Thank you Vision Coding.
