Heads-up for 2015/2016 models

Early models are a 2-step process: this activation first, then additional programming (independent of this activation) to fully enable Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on the headunit.

Will this work for my car?

This enables wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on compatible Skoda MIB2 units.

Step 1 – Confirm your software version

You’ll enter this at checkout. Hold MENU for 3 seconds, select Software update/versions, then Installed SW Train Version. It should start with MST2 – for example:

MST2_EU_SK_ZR_P0359T
MST2_EU_SK_ZR_P0245T
MST2_EU_SK_PQ_P0359T

Versions ending P02xxT need one extra programming step after our activation – an OBD2 tool such as OBDEleven completes it.

Step 2 – Count your SD card slots

Two slots labelled SD1 and SD2? That’s a supported headunit. Just one slot? Not compatible.

Step 3 – Enter your version and check out

Each activation is single use and gives a one-time lifetime activation on the head unit it is applied to, so it cannot be reused or returned once supplied.

What's the difference between Email and SD card?

Email

Your order data for your Installed SW Train Version will be delivered via email within 24 hours. Instructions are included. You will need your own Windows/Mac device + spare SD card (between 4-32GB) to carry out the installation.

SD card

You will receive a pre-loaded SD card via the post, plus instructions. No computer needed. This is also the easiest option as it will essentially be plug-and-play.

My version ends in P02xxT. What extra step is required?

Step 1

Install the software to enable the services on the headunit.

Step 2

Using a device known as OBDEleven, make some coding changes to display the activated services (Apple CarPlay and Android Auto).

Note

The instructions sent with the software details the coding changes required. Step 2 is the customer's responsibility and is independent of the activation.

Do I need any upgrades?

It’s entirely your choice, but we highly recommend the Carlinkit Mini Ultra wireless adapter for the best experience. Factory systems only support wired connections–this adapter seamlessly converts it to wireless, giving you hassle-free access every time you start your car.

I only have slot SD1, will this work for me?

In most cases, this product is not suitable for your vehicle. Due to technical reasons, we are unable to support this type of headunit.

Do you offer map updates?

We do not currently support map updates, however, we recommend navigation via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto using Google Maps, Apple Maps or Waze.

Great item and service, make sure you read instructions carefully 1st.

Top tip is pay attention to the details in the instructions, for eg if it says full size SD, a Micro SD in an adapter is no good. (I went for emailing software) Once i reread and adhered to the instructions, it went swimmingly. I emailed them and got a reply pretty quick, which i wasnt expecting as it was a Sunday! Appleplay didnt work at 1st, but again, the info was there, and the answer was to use a better quality cable, as 1st 2 didnt work, 3rd (quality one) one did.

Do need some understanding of computer and files as their instructions although useful are not 100%.
I had to try two different SD cards to get the install to work.
Install only takes a few minutes for Android Auto to get up and running, since then run without issue.

Excellent Service

Just put in the software version for my car( you are told how to get it) and ordered, also ordered the wireless adapter. Items were 2 day delivery Royal Mail. Arrived promptly. Literally took me 5 minutes to do the update and pair the wireless adapter. Works a treat. My dealer told me my car was not suitable, just shows how much the dealers know.

Perfect and great product

after purchasing the carplay activation for Skoda MIB2, I was contacted to make sure I had the right equipment to proceed with the job. The only thing they don’t specify on the product is that a windows computer is needed for the DIY version. But, it worked perfectly and I now have CarPlay.

Apple CarPlay connection

I was sceptical about this process but installing it couldn’t have been simpler.
Only comment is that the actual installation is shown but not how to use it. As with any new system it’s going to take me a while to figure out how everything works but I’m very pleased so far.

No instructions

I had checked before that my car was compatible but I have not been able to make it work!! There are no instructions on the piece of paper with a barcode which states instructions, just a storage app

The customer had not contacted us prior to leaving this review. We apologise that the provided instructions didn't display correctly. This would have been a simple fix if the customer had contacted us - we would have provided the instructions to resolve the issue.

Program installed very quickly (minutes) and worked without additional coding and from a 64GB Sandisk SDXC Ultra 80MB/s.
Used Android Auto with Samsung S20 wired on recent 1 week UK vacation. Tried Google Maps/TomTom Go/Waize for SatNav with simultaneous spotify and live incoming WhatsApp messages. All worked as they should.
Pleased I didn't need coding as local garages unwilling to undertake the minor coding suggested in the comprehensive instructions.
